Dennis A. Ross was born in Lakeland, Florida on October 18, 1959. Mr. Ross obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University in December of 1981. He graduated from law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University on May 14, 1987. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Ross returned to Lakeland and became an associate with the law firm of Holland & Knight. Mr. Ross practiced for over 2 years with this firm concentrating primarily in the defense of workers’ compensation litigation. Following that, Mr. Ross became in-house counsel with Walt Disney World Company in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. In that position Mr. Ross administered the workers’ compensation litigation of the 35,000 employee theme park.
In October 1989, Mr. Ross started his own law practice specializing in workers’ compensation defense. Since that time the practice has developed a substantial client base of self-insured employers, self-insured funds, and workers’ compensation insurance companies. Mr. Ross is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Ross has served on the Rules Committee for the workers’ compensation section of the Florida Bar. Mr. Ross served as the Chairman of the Polk County Republican Executive Committee and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Ross is currently serving as the State Representative for District 64 in the Florida House of Representatives. Initially elected to Florida’s House of Representatives in November of 2000, Representative Ross was re-elected subsequently in 2002, 2004 and again in 2006. His current council and committee responsibilities include assignment to the Policy and Budget Council, the Committee on Business Regulation and the Select Committee to Protect Personal Information. In addition, Representative Ross is Chair of the Committee on Courts and Vice Chair of the Safety and Security Council.Top^
Barbi L. Feldman was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1974 and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio where she graduated from high school in 1992. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 from the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she majored in Theatre and Business Administration.
Barbi L. Feldman graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington in May 1999, and became licensed to practice law in Florida in October 1999. As a law student, Ms. Feldman obtained a Rule 9 Limited License to Practice Law in Washington State in 1997, which enabled her to work as an attorney in Washington and gain significant experience in civil, criminal and administrative courts. She also clerked for a Superior Court Judge in Spokane County Washington, where she dealt with administrative appeals and all court proceedings.
Ms. Feldman’s practice is comprised of insurance defense litigation, representing carriers in first party property claims, automobile negligence actions, products liability actions, workers compensation actions, and premises liability claims in the state circuit courts. She also represents clients in complex business and commercial litigation, construction litigation, and workers compensation defense. She has appeared in all levels of the state courts and is admitted to the Federal Bar of the Middle District of Florida. Ms. Feldman is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar, the Appellate Section of the Florida Bar, and the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Florida Bar. She is an active member in the Florida Association for Defense Lawyers and currently serves on the Amicus Committee. Ms. Feldman is an active member in the legal and local community and has been provided the highest rating of excellence allowed by Martindale-Hubbell for an attorney with her years of experience.
Ms. Feldman is a certified instructor for continuing education credits for adjusters and nurse case managers by the Property & Casualty Claims Professional Association, Workers’ Compensation Claims Professional Association, and the Department of Insurance. She is a professor of Business Management at Axia College, University of Phoenix. She is also a Supreme Court Certified Mediator.Top^
